Ortak have been making stunning and imaginitive Sterling Silver jewellery on the wild and mysterious Scottish island of Orkney for the past 50 years, indeed 2017 was their 50th year.
Ortak take much of the inspiration of design from their local heritage and landscape, such as the rolling sea waves that pound the rugged coastline with pristine clear blue waters, juxtaposed with golden beaches and rolling hills in this very unspoiled landscape. This can be seen in their masterly crafting in blue / green enameling and sintered glasswork, but they are more than happy to make jewellery in all the colours of the rainbow.
Celtic and viking designs also feature in the likes of Ogham pendants and rings.
